Fixing Video & Audio Lag

Last updated on Feb 08, 2026

High-resolution 4K video and lossless audio formats found on the Headphone Dust MKV files require a lot of processing power. If the audio doesn't sync up with the video on screen:

  • Disable Video Processing: Turn off "Motion Smoothing" or "AI Upscaling" on your TV. These features add "lag" to the video while the audio plays ahead.

  • Enable "Game Mode": Switching your TV to Game Mode reduces video processing time, which often brings the picture back in sync with the audio.

  • Use Audio Delay: Most AV Receivers and the Nvidia Shield TV Pro have a "Lip Sync" or "Audio Delay" slider in the settings. Adjust this in 10ms increments until the sync is perfect.

  • Check Your Cable: An under-powered HDMI cable can cause "timing errors." Ensure you are using a Certified Ultra High Speed (48Gbps) cable.
